Outrage as Woman Cuts Down Yellow Ribbons Honouring Israeli Hostages in London

Vandal Snips Hostage Tribute Ribbons in Muswell Hill

A shocking act of disrespect in north London has sparked fury after a woman was caught on camera cutting down yellow ribbons tied to a fence. These ribbons symbolise hope and remembrance for 48 Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

The incident happened at Princes Avenue Park, Fortis Green Road, Muswell Hill. Video shows a young woman using scissors to saw through the ribbons despite angry onlookers confronting her.

Onlooker: “You’re disgusting.” Woman: “I think condoning a genocide is disgusting. If I’m committing a crime, call the police.”

Pro-Palestinian “Hate Rallies” Stoke Tensions on October 7 Anniversary

The vandalism comes amid a surge of pro-Palestinian protests marking the second anniversary of Hamas’s brutal October 7 massacre, which killed 1,195 Israelis.

  • At least 16 rallies are planned across the UK, mostly at universities.
  • Some events included controversial bake sales dubbed “time for dessert” to “honour our martyrs.”
  • The Jewish community has strongly condemned these gatherings as hateful and provocative.

Top Politicians Demand Tough Action as Anger Boils Over

PM Sir Keir Starmer urged organisers to “demonstrate humanity” after a recent synagogue terror attack left two Jewish victims dead.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch slammed the protests as “disgraceful” and criticised calls for violence against Jewish people.

Reform UK chief Nigel Farage said these events “add insult to injury” at a sensitive time for Britain’s Jewish community.

Senior Tory Robert Jenrick demanded students involved be expelled, branding the protests “a f***ing disgrace.”

Home Office Cracks Down on Disruptive Demonstrations

The Home Office will toughen rules on repeated protests that stir unrest. Police will get new powers to consider the impact of multiple demonstrations when setting conditions or banning future marches.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood: “The right to protest is a fundamental freedom, but it must be balanced with the freedom of neighbours to live without fear.” “Large, repeated protests leave some communities – particularly Jewish – feeling unsafe and scared to leave their homes.”

Nearly 500 arrests were made during London rallies supporting the banned terror group Palestine Action, soon after the Yom Kippur synagogue attack.

What’s Next?

Scotland Yard warns protests are escalating tensions, pulling officers away from protecting vulnerable Jewish neighbourhoods.

New measures will allow police to reject or move demonstrations to stop ongoing disruption and hate. Anyone ignoring rules faces arrest and prosecution.

The Home Office is reviewing protest laws amid rising terror threats and national security concerns.
