Police are on high alert following reports that a woman approached three children in a popular Northampton play park and invited them back to her home.
Children Offered Chewing Gum Then Invited Home
The incident happened last month in Spring Boroughs’ pocket park.
Northamptonshire Police say the woman first offered chewing gum to the kids as they played. After one child accepted, she stroked his back and invited him to her home for a hot drink.
The youngsters quickly fled, raising the alarm.
Suspect Description Released
- White woman, late 50s
- Slim build with medium-length grey hair
- Wearing a pink hooded top with a doughnut pattern
Police Seek Witnesses
“Were you in Spring Boroughs pocket park on Tuesday, September 30, between 4.30pm and 5pm?” police asked.
“Witnesses are being sought after a woman approached children, offering chewing gum, then stroking a child’s back and inviting him home for a hot drink. The children then ran off.”
