Update Issued on Condition of Woman Hospitalised After New Cross Stabbing

An update has been issued regarding the condition of a woman who was hospitalized following a stabbing incident in New Cross.

Police were called to Parkfield Road, near Lewisham Way, shortly before 9am on Friday, May 24. Upon arrival, officers found a woman in her 30s who had sustained stab injuries.

Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, treated the woman at the scene before transporting her to a nearby hospital. Medical staff have since assessed her condition as not life-threatening or life-changing.

No arrests have been made at this time, and police investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police provided the following statement: “On Friday, 24 May police were called to Lewisham Way at around 09:00hrs to reports of a stabbing. Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service who treated a woman in her 30s for stab injuries. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where her condition was later assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing. At this early stage, there have been no arrests. Officers are currently carrying out fast-time enquiries into the circumstances.”

Police are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with information about the incident to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact police quoting CAD1891/24MAY24.
