HIT AND RUN Two Teens Arrested After 17-Year-Old Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash

A teenage boy tragically died following a hit-and-run collision in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire Police have confirmed.

Fatal Crash on Dawlish Drive

The incident happened at around 6.05pm on Friday, 17 October, on Dawlish Drive, Bentilee. A 17-year-old boy was struck by a car, whose driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, which also led to road closures on Dawlish Drive, Wellfield Road, and Bargrave Street.

Boy Dies Despite Emergency Treatment

The victim sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital. Sadly, despite intensive medical care, the 17-year-old passed away in the early hours of Saturday, 18 October.

Specialist officers are supporting the boy’s family during this heartbreaking time.

Police Make Two Arrests

Police launched a swift investigation to find the driver. They arrested two local boys, aged 17 and 16, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in police custody.
