Two teenagers have been found guilty of the murder of Robert Robinson, 21, who was fatally stabbed in a brutal knife attack in Deptford during the summer of 2024.
Ryan Wedderburn, 18, of Windlass Place, and Kirk Harris, 19, of Upper Brockley Road, were convicted of murder by a jury at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Murder Trial at the Old Bailey
The court heard that Robinson was targeted and attacked in broad daylight, sustaining multiple stab wounds in what prosecutors described as a “frenzied and deliberate assault.” Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite efforts to save him, Robinson was pronounced dead shortly after.
Both defendants had denied murder but were found guilty after a comprehensive trial, during which CCTV, forensic evidence, and witness testimony were presented.
They will be sentenced at a later date, the court confirmed.
Family Reacts to Verdict
Robert Robinson’s family welcomed the verdict, saying in a statement:
“Robert was a much-loved son, brother, and friend. His life was stolen in a senseless act of violence. We thank the police and prosecution for their hard work and the jury for delivering justice.”
Met Police: ‘Relentless investigation’
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police praised the outcome, stating:
“This was a tragic case involving the needless loss of a young man’s life. Our team worked tirelessly to identify and bring those responsible to justice. We hope this verdict brings some measure of closure to Robert’s loved ones.”
The motive behind the attack has not been fully disclosed, but police confirmed it was a targeted incident, not random.
