Two Taken to Hospital After Violent Incident at Haywards Heath Station

Police Arrest Two Men After Late-Night Assault Involving Weapons

Two men have been taken to hospital following a violent altercation involving weapons at Haywards Heath railway station just after midnight.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 12am on Tuesday morning (1 July), where British Transport Police (BTP) officers and paramedics responded to reports of an assault.

A spokesperson for BTP told Sussex News:

“We were called to Haywards Heath station shortly after midnight on Tuesday 1 July following reports of an assault.

Officers attended along with paramedics and two people were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A man has been arrested for grievous bodily harm with intent.A second man was later arrested for affray.”

A crime scene remained in place throughout the night while investigations were carried out. Rail services were not significantly disrupted.

Police enquiries are ongoing.
