Two Suspects to Appear in Court Over Antisocial Behaviour Incidents in Canterbury

Two suspects are set to appear in court in connection with a series of antisocial behaviour incidents in Canterbury earlier this year. The incidents occurred in the Thannington area during the evening of Sunday, 7 January 2024, and continued into the early hours of the following day.

Reports were made to Kent Police regarding damage to a car, the theft of registration plates from vehicles, and five bins that were set alight. Following an investigation, police stopped a vehicle on Monday, 10 January, leading to the arrest of three individuals.

On 12 September, charges were authorised against 18-year-old Adam Kardo, of Redberry Road, Ashford. Kardo faces charges of aiding and abetting arson and aiding and abetting criminal damage. He is scheduled to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 26 September.

An 18-year-old man from Faversham has also been summonsed to attend the same court hearing to face charges of theft and criminal damage related to the incidents.

A 16-year-old boy from Canterbury, who was arrested at the time, admitted to his involvement in the offences and has since been cautioned by police.

Kent Police continues to address antisocial behaviour in the region and encourages anyone with information about such activities to come forward.
