Two Individuals Appear in Court Charged with Murder After Edinburgh Pub Shooting

A man and a woman have appeared in court, facing murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting outside a pub in Edinburgh on Hogmanay. Police Scotland also confirmed the arrest of a 33-year-old woman in connection with the incident.

Marc Webley, 38, tragically lost his life after being shot just before midnight outside the Anchor Inn located on West Granton Road. He succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention in the hospital.

The accused individuals, Grant Hunter, 32, and Emma McVie, 25, both appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday. During their court appearance, they made no plea. In addition to the murder charges, Hunter and McVie have also been accused of attempted murder and assault, which resulted in severe injury and danger to life.

A second man, aged 39, was also injured in the shooting and subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

Both Hunter and McVie, who are residents of Edinburgh, have been remanded in custody as they await their next court appearance.

Police have indicated that their investigations into the incident are ongoing, and further inquiries are being conducted to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
