Police in Guisborough have arrested two men on suspicion of administering a noxious substance following the sudden death of a man in his 20s.
Cleveland Police received a call from the ambulance service reporting the sudden death of a young man at a property on Derby Road, just off Dorset Road, at approximately 1:05 am on Sunday, April 28.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are currently being treated as unexplained, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
Two men, aged 18 and 21, were taken into custody on suspicion of administering a noxious substance. They have since been released on bail as inquiries into the incident continue.
Witnesses at the scene described a significant emergency response, with one witness noting that a house had been cordoned off by authorities.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service confirmed their response to the incident, stating that they received a call shortly before 1:00 am on April 28 and dispatched a team of emergency responders to the private address on Derby Road in Guisborough.
As investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death progress, authorities are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward and assist in the inquiry.
