ITV viewers were left surprised and moved during Tuesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! when N-Dubz singer and former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos shared that she identifies as demisexual.
In a heartfelt conversation with fellow campmates Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough and Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, Tulisa opened up about her perspective on relationships and her emotional needs in a partner.
The 36-year-old revealed she had been on the exclusive dating app Raya but admitted it had never led to a meet-up. “I’m not really a dater,” she confessed, describing herself as “properly guarded” in her love life.
“I feel like I’m demisexual,” Tulisa shared. “I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone. I need actual depth… I’m a slow, slow burner. I’ve been celibate for over three years.”
When asked about her celibacy, she added: “I’m not an overly sexualised person. For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions that I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way.”
Her candid remarks prompted a humorous response from Halsall, who likened her guarded approach to a Bushtucker Trial: “It sounds like a Bushtucker Trial where you’ve got to find ‘a key to Tulisa’s temple.’”

Revealing N-Dubz Origins
Tulisa also surprised campmates by explaining the meaning behind her band’s name, N-Dubz. Speaking with Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, Tulisa revealed that N-Dubz represents “North West London,” where the group’s members are from.
Mabuse, who is also from North West London, joked about being part of N-Dubz herself, prompting laughter among the campmates.
