A stabbing shock has rocked the Longfield estate in Trowbridge. Daniel Miles, 35, was rushed to hospital with a neck wound caused by a broken glass bottle in a nasty street brawl on Bramley Lane.
Seven Arrested After Bloody Evening Clash
The violent incident unfolded at around 7.25pm last Wednesday (1 October). Emergency crews, including Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance medics, scrambled to the scene. Danny – as friends call him – was swiftly taken to Royal United Hospital for urgent treatment.
Police swooped and arrested seven men aged 35 to 68 over the attack. All have since been released on bail while investigations continue.
Tragic Family Ties
The attack is even more chilling given Danny’s recent loss. His brother, Benjamin Swift, died just weeks ago from a serious neck wound after falling through a window in a horrific incident nearby.
“He’s going to be fine but has healing to do, it was very scary for him especially after what happened to his brother Ben,” a family source said.
“Danny’s been struggling more with drugs and alcohol since Ben died in that terrible incident.”
Victim’s Troubled Past Comes to Light
Wiltshire Police confirmed those involved in the scuffle knew each other and assured the public there’s no ongoing threat.
Danny himself has a troubled history, recently pleading guilty in court to theft and a racially aggravated public order offence against a Trowbridge shopkeeper. He’s due back in court for sentencing on 14 November – if he’s well enough.
