Three men were taken to hospital following a triple stabbing at a property on Portland Place in Marylebone early on Sunday morning.
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at around 7:00am on Sunday, 23 February, after reports of an assault at a residential address on the prestigious street, home to several embassies and the BBC headquarters.
Emergency services, including officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, arrived promptly and found four men in need of medical attention. Three of the men had sustained stab wounds and were transported to hospital, where their injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
Police have since arrested three men in connection with the incident. One suspect was detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession with intent to supply drugs. Another man was arrested on suspicion of GBH, while the third was held on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
In response to the incident, the Metropolitan Police issued a Section 76 Closure Notice on the property, effectively sealing it off to prevent further disruption to the local community.
A police spokesperson confirmed the arrests and ongoing investigation, stating: “Officers attended an address on Portland Place, W1, following reports of an assault. Four men were taken to hospital, three with stab wounds, none of which are believed to be life-threatening. We have made three arrests, and the property has been closed under a Section 76 Notice to ensure public safety.”
The motive behind the stabbings remains unclear, and police have yet to confirm whether the incident was connected to gang activity or drug-related offenses. Investigations are ongoing, and officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
