Trimaran sailing vessel flipped in overnight storm

Cowes RNLI Lifeboat, Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team are attending an incident at Venture Quays in East Cowes tonight (Saturday). It appears a luxury Trimaran sailing vessel has been blown off the dockside and has come to rest upside down in the water, close to the Red Funnel ferry terminal. It is thought that a thunderstorm that passed across the Isle of Wight earlier this evening brought a sudden gust of wind, enough to blow the Trimaran over. Coastguard Officers and the volunteer RNLI Lifeboat crewmen remain on scene as the incident continues.
