A notorious transgender child rapist has been locked up for nine months after bombarding a probation officer with chilling phone threats from inside a top-security men’s jail, a court revealed.
‘Get a Knife’: Threats from Behind Bars
Marcia Walker, 51, made multiple menacing calls from Frankland Prison in Durham—where she’s held because she is considered too dangerous for women’s prisons despite legally changing her gender.
Walker left four voicemails warning she would “get a knife” and harm “a load of men.” These threats add to a long list of aggressive behaviour aimed at prison staff, guards, and politicians.
Record of Violent Threats and Bomber Claims
Previously known as Mark Walker, the convicted sex offender has a chilling history of bomb threats and violent intimidation inside custody.
- Once, she threatened to put a nail bomb under a prison governor’s car and have him shot.
- She sparked panic when she used the jail’s intercom to claim a bomb would explode in the staff car park, forcing evacuations.
- Walker even sent a letter threatening former Home Secretary Theresa May with a bomb—though no device was ever found.
Attacks on Staff Over Shaving Razors
Her temper exploded when prison officers confiscated her razors to stop her shaving. She attacked one guard and threatened to kill another in violent outbursts at Frankland Prison.
Last week’s sentencing added another nine months to her incarceration after she admitted sending communications threatening death or serious harm.
Held in Men’s Prison Despite Being Legally Female
Walker was jailed for 13 years in 2003 for raping two girls, including a four-year-old, in brutal attacks that extended her sentence.
Due to her serious sexual crimes, she remains locked up in a men’s prison, despite being legally recognised as female, to protect women prisoners and the public.
Frankland houses some of Britain’s worst, including Soham killer Ian Huntley, Sarah Everard’s murderer Wayne Couzens, and Milly Dowler’s killer Levi Bellfield.
Special Segregation Creates Operational Chaos
Walker is kept segregated from other male inmates. Staff must lock prisoners in cells for 45 minutes while she eats and showers alone. This causes major headaches for the prison.
The Challenges of Managing Dangerous Transgender Offenders
Walker’s case highlights the impossible balancing act for prisons housing transgender offenders convicted of violent sexual offences.
Her latest threats put probation officers and prison staff at risk and extend her already lengthy spell behind bars.
With safety and rights in constant tension, Walker’s behaviour remains a major security headache for Frankland Prison.
