Tragic Accident in Lewes: Elderly Dog Lost in River Ouse

A heart-wrenching incident occurred near the Pells in Lewes on Sunday morning, resulting in the tragic loss of an elderly dog in the River Ouse. The dog, a black and white, wire-haired Patterdale cross, was wearing a collar, tag, and harness marked with “I Am Deaf” when he went missing.

The dog’s owner is devastated and is hoping for the opportunity to retrieve him for a proper goodbye. Authorities are urging anyone who may spot the dog along the river to contact Lewes Police, who are aware of the situation and assisting in the search.
