Three Children Assaulted at Middle Street Property

Thames Valley Police responded to a shocking incident on Tuesday morning, 21 October 2025, after reports came in of three children being attacked at a home on Middle Street, Islip. At around 11:15am, officers arrived to find a nine-year-old girl fatally injured.

Despite efforts to save her, the young girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other children, a boy and a girl, were rushed to hospital but have now been discharged.

Investigation Ongoing as Cause of Death Remains Unknown

A post-mortem has been conducted, though the exact cause of the girl’s death remains unclear pending further tests. Police have vowed to get to the bottom of this devastating case.

The girl’s family is being supported by specially trained family liaison officers who have asked for privacy during this heartbreaking time.

Suspect in Hospital Under Police Guard

Detective Inspector Amy Fox, leading the investigation, confirmed a 49-year-old woman from Oxfordshire is hospitalised in life-threatening condition under police watch. “We are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident,” DI Fox said.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy, and our sympathies are with the family, friends, and community,” she added. Police continue to maintain a presence in the area and urge anyone with information to come forward.

Community Left in Shock

“This remains a highly sensitive and complex investigation,” DI Fox stressed. “We thank the community for their understanding as we work tirelessly to uncover the full circumstances.”
