Three rescued from serious house ablaze in Gosport

Fire crews have successfully rescued three people from a house that was ablaze in Gosport in Hampshire. Crews from Gosport, Fareham and Hightown were mobilised in the early hours of Tuesday morning to the fire call with persons reported after a blaze broke out in the kitchen at a property in North Cross Street at just after 12:37am this morning. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus committed themselves into the smoke-filled property and rescued three people and a woman from the roof. Crews then used two hose reels and a covering jet to extinguish the kitchen fire on the first floor that had caught alight. The rescued casualties were checked on scene by Paramedics from South Central ambulance service.
