A joint police operation led to the arrest of three individuals last night after a vehicle linked to a car theft in Cambridgeshire was stopped and searched in Biggleswade.
The vehicle, which was reportedly involved in a theft incident earlier in the evening, was located by officers from the North and South Roads Policing Units (RPU) along with response teams. Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered false number plates, theft tools, and a quantity of drugs.
Vehicle Seized, Occupants in Custody
All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested at the scene on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of drugs, and going equipped for theft. They are currently in police custody while investigations continue.
A police spokesperson said:
“This was a great example of cross-unit teamwork. Thanks to fast coordination between North and South RPU and response officers, we were able to locate the suspect vehicle quickly, carry out a thorough search, and make arrests without incident.”
The vehicle has been seized for forensic examination, and enquiries are ongoing to determine whether it is linked to other thefts in the region.
