Two men, also aged 22 and 28, were pronounced dead at the scene. All three victims had been travelling in the Seat.

The driver of the van sustained minor injuries, was taken to hospital, and has since been discharged.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“This is a truly awful tragedy and our thoughts remain with the loved ones of all those affected.
Specialist family liaison officers are continuing to support them at this most dreadful time.
Investigations are progressing and we’d urge people not to speculate on the circumstances.”

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.
