Wiltshire Police are hunting crooks who broke into a Corsham Co-Op in the early hours of November 18. The daring raid saw two suspects smash a window with a bizarre weapon – an elephant-shaped garden ornament.

Bizarre Break-In Caught on CCTV

Just after 4.25am, a white Audi rolled into the Co-Op car park at Martingate. Two offenders jumped out and used the garden elephant to smash through a shop window. They rifled through the till area before making off with a haul of cigarettes.

The pair are believed to have fled around 4.32am, heading towards Bath Road.

Police Plead for Garden Ornament Owners to Come Forward

Wiltshire Police are keen to speak to anyone who’s missing an elephant-shaped garden ornament matching the one pictured below. It’s the key piece of evidence in this unusual theft.

Officers also want anyone with info about the break-in to get in touch.
