Thames Valley Police Seek Witnesses After Daylight Robbery of Delivery Driver in Dagnall

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following a brazen daylight robbery of a delivery driver in Dagnall, near Berkhamsted, on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred shortly before 9:10 AM on Main Road North when a DPD courier was targeted by three masked assailants. The suspects, dressed in black clothing and balaclavas, approached the driver, a man in his fifties, and threatened him with a knife before making off with several parcels from his van.

Detective Sergeant Katherine Peacock, who is leading the investigation, described the event as “an extremely frightening ordeal” for the victim, who was simply going about his work. While the driver was not physically injured, DS Peacock emphasized the significant psychological impact of the encounter.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, but due to their masked appearances, police have limited descriptive information to share. Officers are particularly keen to speak with any drivers who may have dashcam footage from the area, or residents who have CCTV or doorbell cameras that could have captured the incident.

DS Peacock added, “I am particularly interested in speaking with anyone who might have witnessed anything suspicious around Main Road North on Saturday morning.

The robbery has highlighted the increasing risks faced by delivery drivers, particularly as online shopping and home deliveries continue to grow.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43240454580. For those wishing to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted at 0800 555 111.

Thames Valley Police continue to investigate the incident and are asking the public to remain vigilant.
