A notorious black swan, dubbed Reggie the Terminator, has swapped chaos for romance after being rehomed from Stratford-upon-Avon to Dawlish, Devon.
Reggie’s Reign of Terror
For nine months, Reggie terrorised the River Avon. The rogue bird relentlessly attacked Stratford’s native mute swans and chased tourists along the bustling riverside. Wildlife wardens revealed he even tried to drown rival swans and disrupted nesting pairs, risking harm to birds and visitors alike.
Rescue Mission and New Beginnings
Experts monitored Reggie for months before deciding on a relocation. Dawlish, home to a population of black swans, seemed the perfect new haven. Since his arrival, Reggie has settled fast and paired up with a female black swan, winning the hearts of local council members.
“Reggie has finally found somewhere he belongs. He is behaving well and seems very content with his new companion,” said Stratford-upon-Avon Swan Warden Cyril Bennis.
Dawlish Town Council hailed it as a happy ending for one of Britain’s most troublesome birds. From terror to tender, Reggie’s story proves even the wildest can find love.
