Ten-Year-Old Girl Killed in House Fire

A devastating house fire in Bradford, West Yorkshire, has claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl while her mother and three siblings managed to escape, prompting a police investigation into the harrowing Bank Holiday blaze.

The fire erupted at 1 am this morning at a residential property on Kingsdale Drive, plunging the neighbourhood into grief and shock. The young victim lost her life after the flames engulfed the dormer bedroom she shared with her two sisters, aged 11 and 6, who miraculously survived, along with their three-year-old brother.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the distress call, with the children’s mother, 37, being carried out of the inferno and rushed to the hospital alongside the other survivors. Presently, they are being treated for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Heartbreakingly, the children’s father, a dedicated teacher in Bradford, was absent from the property at the time of the tragic incident.

Floral tributes now adorn the scene, where a poignant cordon marks the extent of the devastation as investigators work tirelessly to uncover the cause of the blaze.

Detective Chief Inspector Zaheer Abbas of Bradford District Police conveyed the profound sorrow gripping the community, stating, “This is a tragic incident in which a young child has lost her life, our thoughts are with her family at this time. Our investigation with the fire service has deemed that the fire was not suspicious. The family are being supported by specially trained officers, a file will now be prepared for the coroner in due course.
