An 18-year-old man was rushed to a hospital in East London this afternoon after a stabbing incident on the Isle of Dogs, sending shockwaves through the community. The attack occurred in broad daylight near Millwall Park and the Island Gardens DLR station, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Multiple ambulances and police cars descended upon Manchester Road, near the entrance of Millwall Park, at approximately 2:23 pm on Wednesday 27th December 2023. There, they discovered the injured teenager, who had sustained stab wounds. Paramedics immediately provided critical medical attention to the victim before swiftly transporting him to a nearby hospital. As of the latest update, his condition remains unknown.
The area surrounding the incident has been cordoned off by police, with one local resident reporting the presence of a police tent at the bottom of a ramp, signalling the seriousness of the situation.
Eyewitnesses in the vicinity also observed a significant emergency response presence, including one ambulance, two police cars, and approximately five emergency response vehicles parked on East Ferry Road, which runs adjacent to the park, connecting Mudchute and Crossharbour DLR stations.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated, “Police were called at 2.23 pm on Wednesday, December 27 to reports of a stabbing in Manchester Road, near the entrance of Millwall Park. Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. An 18-year-old man was found with a stab injury. He was taken to the hospital where his condition is being assessed. An investigation is underway, and enquiries are ongoing. There have been no arrests.”
