A 17-year-old boy has tragically died following a serious motorcycle crash in Beare Green, Dorking, which led to a major road closure and sparked a police appeal for witnesses.

The fatal incident occurred at around 5pm on Wednesday, March 12, on the A24 Horsham Road, prompting a swift response from Surrey Police and emergency services. Despite their efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash involved a single motorcycle, and no other vehicles were reported to be involved.

In a statement, Surrey Police said:

“His next-of-kin have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

The southbound carriageway of the A24 was closed between Flint Hill roundabout and Beare Green roundabout for several hours while officers carried out a detailed collision investigation. The road closure caused significant disruption to traffic in the area during the evening commute.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the crash or may have seen the motorcycle in the moments leading up to the collision to come forward.

They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone with dash cam, helmet camera, or CCTV footage that could assist with the investigation.
