Teenager charged with possessing knife in Northfleet

An alleged knife carrier has been charged with two offences as Kent Police continues to crack down on knife crime. The 16-year-old, who is from the Chatham area, was detained in All Saints Road, Northfleet, by plain-clothed officers at around 6.05pm on Sunday 21 April 2019. The officers, from the Gravesham Community Policing Team, were on a proactive patrol which was specifically targeting suspected knife carriers and drug dealers. Following the boy’s detention, a two-inch knife is reported to have been seized along with a small quantity of what is suspected to be crack cocaine. The teenager was charged with possessing a knife blade in a public place and possessing crack cocaine. He has been bailed to attend Medway Youth Court on Tuesday 21 May 2019.
