Teenager Charged in Connection with Christmas Eve Murder in Blanchardstown

A teenager has been charged in connection with the murder of Tristan Sherry, who died after an incident on Christmas Eve. The suspect, whose identity is protected due to legal reasons, was arrested yesterday morning and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a garda station in west Dublin.

This latest arrest marks the fourth person to be charged in connection with the incident. Three other men have already faced charges and appeared in court.

An 18-year-old man, who was taken into custody on Thursday over the Christmas Eve attack, was released without charge. Gardaí have indicated that a comprehensive file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Tristan Sherry, 26, died after being assaulted and stabbed after he allegedly entered Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown with a gun. The incident also resulted in the serious injury of another man, Jason Hennessy Sr, who died of his injuries 11 days later in hospital.

The accused teenager is set to face proceedings at Dublin District Court this morning.
