Teenage Woman Killed in Fatal Corsham Crash as Police Launch Witness Appeal
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on the A4 Bath Road in Corsham on Thursday, 24 July, which claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.30pm at the junction with the B3109, where a Hyundai i10 was involved in a serious collision with a Scania Tipper HGV.
Woman Pronounced Dead at the Scene
A female passenger in the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed, and police say specialist officers are providing support to her grieving family and friends.
Two Seriously Injured, HGV Driver Unhurt
The driver of the Hyundai, also a woman, and a male passenger suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital where they continue to receive treatment. The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
Investigation Underway – Dash Cam Footage Requested
Wiltshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) is leading the inquiry. They are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage of the vehicles prior to the collision to come forward.
“We are seeking to understand the full circumstances of this tragic incident. If you were driving in the area or witnessed the collision, please get in touch with us as soon as possible,” a spokesperson for the SCIT said.
