A 16-year-old girl has been arrested and charged following a dramatic police chase through Harrow Town Centre in the early hours of Monday, April 21.
The incident began at approximately 12:25am when Metropolitan Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Sheepcote Road, near the junction with Station Road. The car failed to stop, triggering a short pursuit through the area.
According to members of the Online Facebook Group, the incident resembled a “crazy police chase,” with multiple patrol vehicles involved as the car was driven erratically through the streets of Harrow before eventually coming to a halt.
Occupants Reportedly Children
Upon stopping the vehicle, police detained the driver and two other occupants—all reportedly underage. No injuries were reported during the incident.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed the arrest and charges:
“A 16-year-old female was arrested at the scene and later charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence, driving with no insurance, and failing to stop for police.”
The teenager will now face legal proceedings in relation to the offences.
The incident has raised concerns locally over underage driving and youth safety, with some residents expressing shock that minors were involved in such a dangerous situation.
Police have not released further details about the two passengers, but investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact the Metropolitan Police via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
