Teenage Driver Arrested After Failing to Stop for Police in Brighton

 

A 19-year-old driver has been arrested and charged in Brighton after failing to stop for police and colliding with a police vehicle.

Incident Details

The incident occurred at Russell Place, Brighton, at approximately 9:40 PM on Wednesday, 28 February. Officers had received a report of a suspected intoxicated driver in the area.

When Sussex Police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to comply, resulting in a minor collision with a police car.

The suspect, identified as Eren Sezen, 19, of The Ridgeway, Croydon, was arrested shortly afterward on suspicion of:

  • Dangerous driving
  • Failing to stop for police
  • Failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when suspected of drunk driving

Charges and Court Appearance

Sussex Police have confirmed that Sezen has since been charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Dangerous driving
  • Failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis
  • Driving without valid third-party insurance
  • Driving otherwise than by a licence
  • Failing to stop when required by a police officer

He is scheduled to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 3 March.
