Teenage Boy Shot Dead in South London as Police Hunt for Gunman

A 16-year-old boy has been shot dead in broad daylight in a shocking incident in Stockwell, southwest London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service, rushed to Paradise Road, SW4, after reports of a shooting at 3:21 PM on Tuesday, 4 March.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to identify the victim and contact his next of kin.

Investigation Underway

Police have launched a manhunt for the gunman, with forensic officers, including Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), seen examining an escalator for blood patterns, possibly linked to the suspect’s escape route.

Superintendent Gabriel Cameron, who is leading the local policing response, said:

“This is an enormously shocking incident which I imagine will cause huge distress to the local community.

“Our thoughts are with the young boy’s family at this devastating time.

“Local officers are on the scene gathering CCTV and speaking to witnesses to piece together what has happened. They will be supported by specialist homicide investigators shortly.

“Please rest assured we will work around the clock to identify and find those responsible.”

 


Police Appeal for Information

At this early stage, no arrests have been made. A crime scene and cordons remain in place while officers conduct extensive forensic examinations and witness enquiries.
