Kent Police have arrested an 18-year-old man following a reported sexual assault involving a teenage girl on a bus near Chatham town centre in Medway.

The incident occurred at around 4pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Incident Details

A teenage girl was travelling on a bus when she was allegedly approached by a man she did not know.
It is reported that the man sat beside her and touched her over her clothing. He then disembarked the bus in Rainham.

The girl immediately alerted the bus driver, and a report was later filed with Kent Police.

Arrest and Investigation

Following a thorough investigation, officers arrested an 18-year-old man from the local area on Thursday, May 1.
He has been bailed pending further enquiries while the investigation continues.

A Kent Police spokesperson said:

We take all reports of this nature very seriously. Enquiries remain ongoing, and we urge anyone with further information to come forward.
