Victim’s Condition Improves as Police Continue Hunt for Attacker
A stabbing suspect remains on the loose three days after a brutal knife attack in Croydon, South London.
Emergency services were called to Lodge Lane, New Addington, at around 10.50pm on Sunday, February 2, following reports of an injured man.
The victim, believed to be in his 40s, suffered stab wounds and was rushed to hospital, where his condition was initially described as critical.
Victim’s Condition No Longer Life-Threatening
On Wednesday, February 5, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the man’s condition had stabilised and is no longer life-threatening.
However, detectives have yet to make any arrests in connection with the stabbing, and the suspect remains at large.
Police Appeal for Information
A crime scene remains in place on Lodge Lane as officers continue their investigation. The Met Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said:
“Police were called at about 10.50pm on Sunday, February 2, to reports of a man found injured in the road on Lodge Lane in Croydon. Emergency services attended. The man, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, was found to be suffering from stab injuries.”
“He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His next of kin are aware. A crime scene is in place. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
Anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the attack is urged to call 101, quoting CAD 7151/02Feb.

Residents Concerned Over Safety
The attack has left New Addington residents shaken, with locals expressing concerns over increasing violence in the area.
One resident told reporters:
“Our kids step over blood trails on their way to school. London crime is getting worse, and it’s terrifying.
The Met continues to urge the public to remain vigilant as they work to locate the suspect.
