Suspect Charged After Maidstone Home Burglary

A man has been charged in connection with a burglary that occurred in Maidstone town centre earlier this month. Kent Police were called to a residence near Mill Street shortly before 3:30 am on Thursday, October 10, 2024, following reports of a break-in.

Incident Details

It is alleged that an intruder stole a set of keys, cigarettes, and cash from the property before fleeing after being disturbed by one of the residents. Authorities responded swiftly, and the following day, a suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Suspect Information

Michael Malone, 57, of Fairmeadow, Maidstone, has been charged with burglary. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 14, where he was remanded in custody. Malone is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court for a hearing on November 11.

Kent Police continue to investigate the incident and encourage anyone with further information to come forward.
