Surrey Police Issue Warning Amidst Motorcyclist Mayhem at Sunbury Cross

Sunbury Cross, Surrey — Surrey Police are urging the public to avoid the Sunbury Cross area this afternoon, July 28, as they respond to a large gathering of motorcyclists that has spiraled into chaotic and dangerous behaviour. Reports have emerged of motorcyclists driving the wrong way up the A316 and the M3 slip road, running red lights, and even driving on pavements.

The situation escalated further with reports of a firework being set off in the Travelodge car park, leading to two men being hospitalized with injuries to their hands. In response to the growing disorder, Surrey Police have enacted a number of road closures around the vicinity to manage the situation safely.

A substantial police presence, including a helicopter, has been deployed to control the crowd and ensure public safety. The police are also collaborating with National Highways to oversee the road closures and direct traffic away from the area effectively.

Local residents and travellers are strongly advised to steer clear of the area until further notice. Surrey Police are working diligently to resolve the situation and have called for anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in their ongoing investigation.
