A stolen Maserati was intercepted and stopped in a coordinated police operation in Birmingham after being spotted by D-Unit #ANPRInterceptors.

The high-performance vehicle was identified through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, prompting a swift and strategic response from A-Unit officers, who successfully deployed a pre-emptive stinger to bring the vehicle to a halt and avoid a dangerous pursuit.

Police confirmed that four occupants were detained from the vehicle at the scene, and enquiries into the theft and the individuals involved are ongoing.

A spokesperson from the force praised the effective teamwork and use of tactical driving tactics to safely bring the situation under control, highlighting the importance of ANPR systems in combatting vehicle crime.

The incident underscores ongoing efforts by police to target high-end vehicle thefts across the region, which continue to pose a significant challenge to law enforcement.

More updates are expected as investigations progress.
