Manhunt for attacker continues after man is attacked at St Pancras Station and knocked out

Overview

A man has been seriously injured in an assault at St Pancras International station in central London, prompting a full police investigation.

British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed they were called to the busy rail hub just after 8.40pm on Monday, July 28, following reports of an attack.

Victim Found Injured on Station Floor

Paramedics treated a man at the scene for serious injuries after he was found lying face down near the top of the Thameslink escalators. He was later taken to hospital, where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Medical curtains were erected around the victim, and forensic officers were seen combing the area, collecting DNA and fingerprint evidence from the escalator rails and surrounding concourse.

Investigation Underway

British Transport Police confirmed overnight that officers have been making arrest enquiries as the investigation continues.

“Officers were called to St Pancras station just after 8.40pm yesterday (28 July) following reports of an assault,” a BTP spokesperson said.

“A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening. Overnight the investigation has been ongoing and officers have been making arrest enquiries.”

Witnesses or anyone with relevant information are urged to text BTP on 61016 quoting reference 655 of 28 July.

Tommy Robinson Filmed in Station Around Time of Assault

Footage circulating online appears to show far-right activist Tommy Robinson (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) walking through St Pancras station around the time of the incident. He was seen handing out flyers promoting a future protest and later filmed himself with a cut to the face, which he claimed occurred after walking into a door.

One video clip appears to show Robinson walking past the victim on the floor as bystanders shout for help.

So far, Robinson has not publicly commented on the incident, and no connection has been confirmed by police between him and the assault. Since the incident Robinson hasn’t tweeted despite his timeline being filled constantly

Witness Appeal

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the station and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have mobile phone footage to come forward.
