Spa Valley train trashed by yobs

Police are seeking help to identify culprits who caused extensive damage to train carriages at the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells.

Overnight, between Sunday 20 and Monday 21 April 2025, approximately £30,000 of damage was caused to heritage rolling stock, close to the town’s old West Station site.

Several carriages were vandalised with graffiti to the extent the original paintwork cannot be saved.

Officers attended the scene to carry out initial enquiries and are now asking the public for help.

Anyone with information is urged to call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference BOS-26130-25-4693-IR.

Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam, who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to check for footage.
