From reckless drivers to predatory offenders, South London courts have handed down some significant sentences this month. Here’s a look at the men jailed in June 2025 for shocking crimes committed across Bexley, Welling, Nine Elms, Clapham, and Bermondsey.


Bus Driver Who Killed 9-Year-Old Girl in Bexleyheath

Martin Asolo-Agogua, 23, of Nunhead, has been jailed for four years after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing a double-decker bus into nine-year-old Ada Bicacki. The incident occurred on August 3, 2024, after Asolo-Agogua turned up for his shift following a night of partying and cannabis use.

Despite being visibly tired, he drove the bus until it mounted the pavement on Watling Street, hitting Ada and narrowly missing her younger brother. Heartbreaking victim statements from her family described the trauma of the loss.


Killer Ben Worden Back Behind Bars for Child Sex Offences

Ben Worden, 46, from Welling, previously convicted of manslaughter in 2012, is now back in jail after being caught sending sexual messages to children online. The “children” were actually paedophile hunter decoys, yet Worden sent explicit videos and messages, even after being told their ages.

He has been sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

 


Battersea Car Park Murder

Earl Morin-Briton, 36, of Sutton, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years for the unprovoked murder of Theo Porteous. The victim was sitting in his car in a Nine Elms car park when Morin-Briton approached and stabbed him three times with a large knife.

Theo died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency responders.

 


Gang Rivalry: Clapham Machete Attack

Nino-Tai Smith, 23, from Nine Elms, used a stolen Mercedes to ram a moped rider before attacking him with a machete in Cedars Road, Clapham. The victim suffered life-changing injuries. Smith fled but was caught two days later on the Patmore Estate, where police recovered a discarded firearm.

Smith was jailed for over seven years for the brutal gang-related assault.

 


Bermondsey Drug Dealer Claimed He Was a Hairdresser

Babutunde Ososipe, 31, of Bermondsey, ran a county lines drug operation in Tonbridge, selling cocaine, MDMA, ketamine, Xanax, and more while pretending to be a hairdresser and music manager.

He was arrested in November 2024 after sending bulk marketing messages via WhatsApp. Police seized drugs, cash, designer goods, and even a bullet during the raid. Ososipe was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison.
