South Croydon Collision Person Taken to Major Trauma Centre

A person has been taken to hospital after a serious road traffic collision in South Croydon.

Emergency services were called to South End, near Brighton Road, shortly after 4pm on Saturday, 16 August. The incident led to road closures in both directions, causing significant delays in the area.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 16:07 yesterday to reports of a road traffic collision on South End, Croydon.

We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an Advanced Paramedic, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.

Our crews treated a person at the scene, before taking them to a London major trauma centre.”

The Metropolitan Police also attended and a scene remains in place while enquiries continue.

Bus services in the area, including routes 60, 119, 166, 312, 403, 405, 407, 412, 466 and 468, were diverted due to the closure.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the condition of the casualty. The road was closed untl 4am on Sunday 17th August 2025.
