Slough Man Found Dead at King George Hospital Identified as Sandeep Annavarapu
A Slough man who was found unresponsive outside King George Hospital in Goodmayes has been formally identified, as an inquest struggles to determine how he died or why he was there.
Sandeep Annavarapu, 30, of Carlisle Road, Slough, was discovered unresponsive in the hospital car park on February 7, 2025. Despite emergency treatment by medical staff, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
More than four months later, no cause of death has been established. On June 17, Senior Coroner Graeme Irvine told East London Coroner’s Court that an autopsy and extensive lab testing failed to find any medical explanation.
The provisional diagnosis was Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) — a classification used when no other cause can be found.
“That is a diagnosis of exclusion,” said Mr Irvine. “Effectively, this means the cause of death is unascertained.”
The coroner requested a statement from Mr Annavarapu’s family to clarify why he was at the hospital, which is over 50 miles from his home in Berkshire.
“I’ve received limited information beyond that he was found unresponsive in the car park,” the coroner said. “We don’t yet know how hospital staff were alerted to his presence.”
Community Response
A crowdfunding campaign to return Mr Annavarapu’s body to Prakasam, Andhra Pradesh, India, raised over £7,500 from more than 450 donors.
“He arrived in the UK in 2019, facing numerous challenges to pursue his education and create a better future for his family,” the fundraiser stated.
“His greatest aspiration was to return to India and provide a dignified life for his parents. Tragically, this dream remained unfulfilled.”
The campaign page was created shortly after his death, though organisers did not respond to media queries.
Inquest Ongoing
The family has now been granted interested person status, which will allow them to access evidence and question witnesses ahead of a full inquest. Further hearings are expected later this year.
Anyone with relevant information about Mr Annavarapu’s movements on or before 7 February 2025 is urged to contact the East London Coroner’s Office.
