Sky Max and NOW are set to premiere the highly anticipated third series of the Sky Original drama “COBRA: Rebellion” on October 12, offering viewers another gripping season of political intrigue and high-stakes drama.
In this latest instalment, Prime Minister Robert Sutherland, portrayed by the talented Robert Carlyle, continues to navigate the complex world of Number 10 Downing Street. His steadfast Chief of Staff, Anna Marshall, played by Victoria Hamilton, remains at his side, ensuring the ship of state sails smoothly.
Joining the talented ensemble cast is Jane Horrocks, known for her roles in “Bloods” and “Absolutely Fabulous,” who takes on the role of Victoria Dalton, a charismatic new Defence Secretary with populist appeal.
The third series promises to deliver even greater challenges for Prime Minister Sutherland. As his approval ratings take a hit due to a controversial police-protest bill, his government is thrust into disarray when an environmental demonstration takes a perilous turn.
As the inquiry into the events surrounding the protest commences, Prime Minister Sutherland and his team begin to unravel a web of deceit and hidden agendas. Matters are further complicated when his own daughter’s involvement with the group behind the protest comes to light, blurring the lines between his personal and political life.
The investigation delves deep into the murky underbelly of British power, exposing not only the urgent threat of environmental devastation but also the corrupt influence of the arms industry, the rise of secretive corporate security firms, and the complex dynamics of the UK’s relationship with a crucial ally.
Prime Minister Sutherland’s resolve is tested to the limits as the rebellion forces him to question the sacrifices he’s willing to make to hold onto power.
The third series also features an impressive supporting cast, including David Haig as Foreign Secretary Archie Glover-Morgan, Richard Pepple as Home Secretary Joseph Obasi, and Marsha Thomason as Francine Bridge, Shadow Environment Secretary, among others.
Toby Finlay leads the writing team, joined by James Wood and Rachel Anthony. Produced by New Pictures in association with Sky Studios, “COBRA: Rebellion” was commissioned by Sky Studios for Sky Max.
The drama series consists of six episodes and will be available to viewers on Sky Max and the streaming service NOW starting on October 12, 2023. International distribution of the series is handled by NBCUniversal Global Distribution on behalf of Sky Studios. Executive producers for the series include Charlie Pattinson, Toby Finlay, Joe Donaldson, Willow Grylls, and Elaine Pyke, with Rebecca Davies as the producer and Adrian Sturges as the Executive Producer for Sky Studios.
