Sexual Harm Prevention Order Issued Against Bognor Man

Andrew Chambers, 33, of Oakley Road Bognor was convicted for targeting young girls online, receiving a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for his actions from 2016 to 2020.

The court at Lewes heard how the man, a cleaner by profession, exploited social media to find his victims. He attempted to lure one girl to his residence and exposed himself to five others, sharing inappropriate images and videos. He also pressured them to undress and pose for photographs.

Arrested on January 26, 2018, he was released under strict bail conditions during an extensive investigation. Examination of his devices revealed explicit messages and photos sent via Facebook Messenger.

He faced multiple charges, including engaging in sexual communications with a child and inciting sexual activity with a child. The man pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on December 5 to a suspended two-year imprisonment.

Along with the SHPO, he faces internet restrictions, mandatory notification of any life changes, and risks imprisonment for non-compliance. Additionally, he must complete 300 hours of unpaid work, participate in rehabilitation programs, pay a victim surcharge, and is registered as a sex offender for 10 years.
