A serious motorcycle crash has caused significant disruption at the Dartford Crossing, leading to long delays on the M25 in both directions. The incident occurred today, October 30, between Junction 1B for A296 Princes Road (Dartford) and Junction 2 for A2 (Darenth Interchange).
Kent Police were alerted to the crash on the clockwise carriageway at around 2:23 p.m. A police spokesperson confirmed the severity of the collision, stating, “Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service are at the scene where both carriageways are currently closed. The air ambulance is also in attendance, and motorists should plan their journeys accordingly.”
As of now, no injuries have been confirmed. However, traffic congestion has worsened, extending northward to Junction 30 (Lakeside/Tilbury) and southward to Junction 3 (M20 Swanley interchange). By 4:11 p.m., northbound lanes had reopened, but the southbound carriageway remained shut.
National Highways has advised that delays are expected to persist into the evening, urging motorists to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternate routes.
