Search Underway for Missing Woman as Police Close Cheshire Beauty Spot and Water Park

Police have launched an urgent search for 38-year-old Rachel Booth, who was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning in the Northwich area.

Rachel was spotted on CCTV at Sandiway Garage at approximately 3.50am on Saturday, July 19. Officers say she appeared to be wearing black leggings, a black vest, and trainers, and was carrying a phone visibly strapped to her outer thigh—prompting speculation she may have been out running at the time of her disappearance.

Search Operation at Popular Nature Spot

A major search operation is now underway at Delamere Forest and surrounding areas, with police cordoning off parts of Oakmere, a well-known Cheshire beauty spot. Nearby Wild Shore Delamere, a water-based adventure park, has also been temporarily shut down to assist with the investigation.

Inspector James Wilson from Cheshire Police said:

“We are currently conducting a number of enquiries to trace Rachel and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Anyone who has seen Rachel since she was reported missing is asked to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has any information on her whereabouts.

We would also like to appeal directly to Rachel—please get in touch with us or your family to let us know you are OK.”

Description and Appeal

Rachel is described as:

  • Age: 38
  • Height: 5ft 9in
  • Build: Slim
  • Hair: Blonde
  • Last seen wearing: Black leggings, black vest, trainers

Cheshire Police have urged anyone who may have seen Rachel, or who was in the Delamere Forest or Wild Shore Delamere area early Saturday morning, to check dashcams, CCTV, and doorbell footage for any possible sightings.
