Search efforts are ongoing for Liam Buchan, a 15-year-old boy who is feared to have been swept away in the River North Esk near Edzell in Angus, Scotland – UKNIP

The teenager got into difficulty in the water on Saturday while in the company of family and friends. Despite extensive rescue operations involving Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, the Scottish Ambulance Service, and HM Coastguard, Liam has not yet been found.

On Monday, mountain rescue teams from Police Scotland and Tayside continued their search along the river. Specialist officers from the police’s dive and marine unit are also providing support. Inspector Grant McGaughay expressed the police’s commitment to supporting Liam’s family during this difficult time and keeping them informed about the ongoing search efforts.

The family of Liam Buchan expressed their gratitude to all the agencies involved in the search and the local community in Edzell for their support thus far. They also issued a warning, urging individuals who are not suitably trained or equipped to refrain from putting themselves in danger while searching for Liam.
