Bailey, 28, and Spencer, 30, are facing a litany of charges, including murder, criminal conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, false reports, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, and several related offences. The investigation commenced on December 30, 2023, when the Special Victims Unit received a report about Damari’s disappearance in West Philadelphia.
Initially, Bailey claimed that her son had been struck and killed by a car, but investigators found no evidence to support this claim. On January 4, Bailey admitted her involvement in her son’s tragic demise during police questioning. Subsequently, a search warrant executed at a residence on the 3800 block of Reno Street led to Spencer’s arrest.
Darryle Carter, Damari’s father, who had been in a six-year relationship with Bailey, shared his profound grief and frustration. Carter, currently residing in Texas, has been unable to travel to Philadelphia due to financial constraints, further deepening his distress. His attempts to contact his son on his birthday went unanswered, adding to the emotional turmoil he is experiencing.
As the search for Damari’s body intensifies, the family remains on edge, with concerns arising from information in the police report. The report revealed that Damari had a swollen head and two black eyes, raising the possibility of abuse.
