Sandown Councillor’s should hang their heads in shame

Sandown Town Council have refused to allow mourners to park their scooters at the Broadway Centre car park for Malcolm Butchers funeral. This would have been after the procession and only for around an hour during the funeral itself. It would have been a polite gesture as its a one off occasion, and Butch was a huge part of the Town. Those who made the request fully understand the centre isn’t for general use parking and it’s an extension of Christ Church, but this isn’t an everyday occurrence. Those who are hoping to take part in the send off are now left to find alternative parking. Sandown town council should hang their heads in shame. This is after all public land. Show some compassion and reverse your decision. You were voted in to represent the Sandown residents.
