Roof Fire in Maidstone Extinguished by Kent Fire and Rescue Service

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a roof fire at a bungalow on Fauchons Lane, Maidstone, this afternoon.

At approximately 4.19pm, three fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, successfully extinguished the blaze using a high-pressure hose reel jet.

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) also attended, and paramedics checked over a woman as a precaution due to light smoke inhalation. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

The fire is believed to have started when the heat from a light bulb caused a dried-out wasps’ nest to ignite.

The incident was brought under control by 5.13pm, and crews have since left the scene. Authorities continue to remind the public to be cautious around potential fire hazards in their homes.
