Robbery Gang Arrested After Attempted Raid on Sevenoaks Phone Shop

A suspected robbery gang has been arrested following an attempted break-in at a phone shop in Sevenoaks High Street, prompting a police appeal for witnesses and footage to assist in their ongoing investigation.

The incident occurred on Friday, March 7, when three masked individuals allegedly attempted to force entry into the stockroom of a Vodafone store at around 4:30pm. The suspects, described as wearing balaclavas, fled empty-handed and were seen entering a blue Ford Focus parked nearby.

Swift Police Response Leads to Arrests

Local beat officers quickly responded to the suspicious activity and broadcast the vehicle’s registration details to other units. Within 40 minutes, the car — containing all four suspects — was located and intercepted with assistance from the Metropolitan Police near Welling, south London.

A 29-year-old man from Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, along with three teenage boys from south east London, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken into custody. They have since been bailed with conditions as detectives continue to gather further evidence.

Witness Appeal and CCTV Request

Kent Police are now appealing for witnesses, particularly those who may have seen the suspects in the area between 4:20pm and 4:40pm on the day of the incident.

Investigators are keen to speak to:

  • Businesses or residents with CCTV or doorbell camera footage
  • Motorists with dashcam footage, particularly from areas around Beech Road, London Road, and the High Street

A police spokesperson said:

“This was a brazen attempted robbery in broad daylight on a busy High Street. We are urging anyone with relevant footage or information — no matter how small — to get in touch to help us identify further movements and actions of those involved.”
